We rely heavily on volunteers to help deepen our capacity to deliver our program’s benefits to more students. Whether building gardens, caring for them, or joining one of our active committees, Healthy Foods for Healthy Kids offers a variety of interesting and fulfilling opportunities to get involved.

HELP IN THE SCHOOL GARDEN

• Assist our staff as we train teachers in the garden

• Help build a garden with your friends or colleagues

Want to help us grow our program and have fun at the same time? You can assist our staff in the garden as they train teachers in our HFHK “Education Cultivation” program.

Or you and your colleagues and friends can help build gardens for a one-day team-building exercise (and pick up a few tips for your own garden!)

We will work with you to customize these opportunities to fit your time and commitment preferences.

SERVE ON A COMMITTEE

• Sharpen your skills as a creative storyteller (Marketing)

• Help design innovative ways to raise funds (Development)

• Be part of a team that organizes our annual fundraiser (Event)

• Advise on curriculum and volunteer for community events (Program)

The work of these committees are essential to HFHK’s success. It’s where you can make a meaningful difference for the future of Healthy Foods for Healthy Kids. Committees meet on average 6-8 times per year, with an average time commitment of 2-5 hours per month.

We will gladly find an opportunity that fits your schedule and interest.
